Sadly, this is not the first time and we truly hope that it will be the last.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">We stand in solidarity with the Black Community especially at this critical time and we acknowledge the depth of their pain and suffering. We remain determined to continue to address racism, to fight against every form of hatred, and to deepen our work in countering inequalities, injustice and any form of discrimination.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<div><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><strong>Statement on Finsbury Park Incident 19th June 2017 (Full press statement)<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div id=\"aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1497954008221_45650\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><span id=\"aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1497954008221_45651\">\u201cOn Saturday 17<sup id=\"aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1497954008221_45652\">th<\/sup>\u00a0June, as part of the Jo Cox Foundation&#8217;s Great Get Together, members of Islington\u2019s differing faith communities and the wider community gathered at the Muslim Welfare House on Seven Sisters Road.<\/span><span id=\"aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1497954008221_45654\">We met to remember Jo Cox, to honour and celebrate her affirmation that we all have more in common than we have things which differentiate us. We met to celebrate our friendship and our cooperation for the good of our neighbourhood.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1497954008221_45659\"><span id=\"aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1497954008221_45660\" style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Less than 48 hours later this same area experienced a terrorist attack aimed at killing Muslims returning home after their Ramadan prayers. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the person who died and with all those injured and traumatised by this event.<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1497954008221_45665\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><b id=\"aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1497954008221_45666\"><span id=\"aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1497954008221_45667\">An attack on one faith is an attack on all faiths and communities.\u00a0 Those who try to divide us and who aim to spread fear, hatred and division will not succeed.<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1497954008221_45672\"><span id=\"aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1497954008221_45673\" style=\"color: #ffffff;\">The communities at the Muslim Welfare House and Finsbury Park Mosque are a valued part of the Islington Faiths Forum. These faith sites and communities are places of welcome. They are our friends.<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1497954008221_45678\"><span id=\"aolmail_yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1497954008221_45679\" style=\"color: #ffffff;\">We pray especially for the leaders of these two communities.
